About Sparks

Landscaping in Sparks, NV

Sparks has grown fast, and most homes east of Pyramid Highway sit on 6,000 to 10,000+ sq ft lots with builder-grade backyards waiting to be finished. We turn those blank slates into outdoor rooms - patios sized for a real dining table, putting greens, fire pits, and shade structures that handle the wind off the valley.

We also work the older Sparks neighborhoods near Victorian Square and Wedekind, where mature trees and tight access call for different planning - and where matching the established character of the street matters as much as the build itself.

Climate & site considerations

Why we build differently here

Valley wind exposure

Spanish Springs and the eastern Sparks valley funnel strong afternoon wind. We position patios and shade for the exposure and select planting suited to open valley lots.

Builder-grade soil and grading

Most new-construction Sparks backyards are left with compacted fill, poor drainage, and inches of topsoil at best. We amend, re-grade, and rebuild the soil profile before anything goes in - otherwise plants struggle and patios settle.

Hot summers, cold winters, same lot

Sparks swings from 100°F+ summer afternoons to single-digit winter nights. We plan shade where you'll actually use the yard, and we detail patio bases and drainage for freezing nights.

FAQ

Sparks landscaping questions

Do you work on new-construction backyards in Spanish Springs?
Yes - it's a large share of our Sparks work. We typically come in after possession to grade, build hardscape, install lighting, and put in plantings and turf. Most builders leave the backyard intentionally blank, and we finish it as one project.
Can you build a putting green or full outdoor kitchen?
Yes. Sparks lots are generally big enough to support real outdoor living features - synthetic-turf putting greens, paver kitchens with built-in grills, fire pits, and pergolas. We design the whole space so each element fits the lot and the use.
How do you plan a patio for Spanish Springs wind?
We review the lot's exposure, orient seating and shade for comfort, and select durable materials for the valley climate.
Do you pull permits with the City of Sparks?
When a project requires it, yes - typically structural retaining walls and certain hardscape additions. We handle the paperwork and inspections as part of the build.
