About Spanish Springs

Landscaping in Spanish Springs, NV

Spanish Springs grew up around Pyramid Highway and the valley north of Sparks, with lot sizes that beat almost anything in greater Reno. That space is the opportunity - and the challenge. Open exposure means more wind, hotter afternoons, and larger outdoor layouts to plan.

Most of our Spanish Springs projects start with bare graded dirt behind a newer home in Wingfield, Sugarloaf, or Kiley Ranch. We design the whole backyard as one plan, then build it in phases or all at once.

Climate & site considerations

Why we build differently here

Wind, wind, and more wind

The afternoon wind off the Pah Rah Range and through the valley is the single biggest design factor in Spanish Springs. We orient patios, place pergolas, and choose plantings to create real shelter - not just decoration.

Open exposure means harder UV

Without mature canopy, plantings and finishes take a beating. We specify UV-stable materials, oversize shade structures, and choose plants that establish quickly so the yard becomes usable in one season, not five.

New-construction soil profile

Nearly every new Spanish Springs backyard is left with compacted fill and minimal topsoil. We amend deeply, set proper drainage, and build hardscape on engineered base so the work lasts past the warranty period.

FAQ

Spanish Springs landscaping questions

Do you work in Wingfield Springs and Kiley Ranch HOAs?
Yes - regularly. We're familiar with the typical HOA design review requirements in those communities and help homeowners prepare submittals when needed.
Can you build a full outdoor living setup - kitchen, fire pit, pergola, putting green?
Yes. Spanish Springs lots are usually large enough to support the full package, and that's a big share of what we build out there. We design the whole space first so the elements work together.
How do you handle wind for shade structures?
We review exposure and size the shade structure's connections and supports for the site. Patio placement and seating orientation are part of the same plan.
Is the lead time longer for big Spanish Springs projects?
Larger projects do book further out - typically 4 to 8 weeks from contract to start during peak season. Smaller scopes can usually slot in faster.
